Website optimizations
Make your website easier to use
Skip links, keyboard shortcuts, focus outlines, viewport settings, breadcrumbs and link enhancements – six tools that work right in the front end.
EZZE WCAG Pro fills in where keyboard and screen reader users often get stuck in your theme. You turn on each tool individually, check it in the preview and don't change a single line of your theme.
- All six tools in every plan, including the Free plan
- Support WCAG criteria such as 2.4.1, 2.4.7 and 1.4.4
- Target check, live preview and viewport test
The tools
Six optimizations for keyboard, zoom and orientation
Each tool has its own settings page with help and can be turned on independently of the others. The labels show which WCAG criteria it supports.

Breadcrumbs

- Schema.org markup and aria-current

Link enhancements
WCAG 2.4.4 WCAG 3.2.5
External links that open a new tab announce it or open in the same tab instead. If you like, all links get a clear underline.
- Screen reader notice, optionally with an icon
- Global link styles for underline and hover
Setup
Turn on, check, done
The settings pages take the guesswork out of it: they check targets on your real home page and show changes before visitors see them.
An honest assessment
What the optimizations do – and what they don't
The tools close typical gaps in many themes. They don't automatically make a website accessible if its content and templates contain barriers.
What they do
- Fast routes to the content via skip links and keyboard shortcuts
- Visible focus, zooming allowed and clear orientation
- Clear links that never open tabs without warning
What they don't replace
- Semantic HTML and labels in your theme and content
- Sufficient color contrast and alternative text
- The Accessibility Test, which finds remaining barriers
Tip
After setup, go through your home page once using only the keyboard, then run the Accessibility Test. For your visitors' preferences, there is also the Accessibility Toolbar.

Questions about the website optimizations?
Plans, WCAG, JavaScript, breadcrumbs, keyboard shortcuts and link styles.
1. Are the website optimizations included in the Free plan?
Yes. Skip links, keyboard shortcuts, focus outlines, viewport settings, breadcrumbs and link enhancements are included in every plan, including the Free plan. They use no AI quota and no test quota.
2. Will this make my website WCAG compliant?
No, not automatically. The optimizations support individual criteria such as 2.4.1 Bypass Blocks, 2.4.7 Focus Visible or 1.4.4 Resize Text. Missing labels, alternative text, contrast or theme issues are found by the Accessibility Test.
3. Do the optimizations work without JavaScript?
Mostly, yes. Skip links, focus outlines, breadcrumbs and the global link styles work with HTML and CSS, and the viewport settings are applied on the server. Keyboard shortcuts and the marking of external links need JavaScript.
4. How do I add the breadcrumbs?
Use the shortcode [wcag_breadcrumbs] in a post, page or widget, or the PHP function wcag_breadcrumbs() in your theme. The output is a nav element with an ordered list, aria-current for the current page and a Schema.org BreadcrumbList.
5. Can the keyboard shortcuts clash with the browser?
The shortcuts combine Alt + Shift, or Control + Option on a Mac, with a letter. Active shortcuts must use different letters. If you change a letter, pick one your browser doesn't already use. “Check all targets” also shows you whether every target exists on your home page.
6. What happens if visitors choose “Underline all links” in the toolbar?
This visitor option can affect the same links as your global link styles. The settings page warns you about it. Test both features together or leave one of them off.

Website optimizations for WordPress – keyboard, focus and zoom
Many WordPress themes look great but let keyboard and screen reader users down: there's no skip link, the focus is invisible or zooming on smartphones is blocked. The website optimizations in EZZE WCAG Pro close these gaps right in the front end – with skip links, keyboard shortcuts, focus outlines, viewport settings, breadcrumbs and link enhancements.
Each tool supports specific WCAG criteria, such as 2.4.1 Bypass Blocks, 2.4.7 Focus Visible, 1.4.4 Resize Text or 2.4.4 Link Purpose. The target check, live preview and viewport test help you fit the settings to your theme without writing code.
Included in the Free plan, connected to the other features
All six optimizations are part of the plugin and included in every plan. The keyboard shortcuts appear in the keyboard help of the Accessibility Toolbar, and the Accessibility Test shows which barriers remain in your theme and content. You'll find an overview of all tools on the Features page.
