Image-focused review for alt text, visible text in the image, contrast signals, and other barriers—with prioritized findings.
What is AI Image Review?
In AI Image Review, upload images or pick them from the Media Library. On smartphones, a compact upload card separates the device and Media Library actions, reveals file requirements on demand, and presents selected images in a horizontal preview strip. Processing uses the same managed cloud path as AI Alt Text. Results are stored; reopen, retest, or delete entries similar to saved Accessibility Tests. During a retest, an open detail view closes, the list scrolls to the running review, and a skeleton card remains visible until the updated result arrives. If the new run fails, the previous result is restored. Before permanent deletion, the plugin shows an accessible confirmation dialog; Cancel, Escape, or the backdrop leaves the result unchanged. When deletion is confirmed from an open mobile detail view, the bottom sheet completes its normal close animation first; only then does the list entry enter its deletion state and disappear after the server confirms success. The Help action in the page header opens a side panel on desktop and a swipe-dismissible bottom sheet on phones with guidance about review scope, file limits, and interpreting results.
On smartphones, a result opens in a bottom sheet. A full-width image preview sits above a compact metadata row for priority, finding count, and WCAG references. The complete summary is followed by compact prioritized findings in expandable cards. Recommended actions are visible as soon as a finding is opened, while supporting context and technical details remain compact disclosures. Previous and Next actions in the footer move directly through the currently loaded results without returning to the list. Additional actions are available from the three-dot menu in the header.
Highlights
- Single & batch: Queue multiple images with the current image title, processing phase, and progress indicators
- Alt suggestion: Editable inline; Apply to Media Library writes to the attachment
- Findings: Expand/collapse; mark noise as ignored (undo supported)
- Media context: Same optional fields as AI Alt Text when enabled (title, description, caption, filename)
Cloud processing and privacy
For analysis, the plugin sends the image file through the managed EZZE proxy to OpenAI. When the local image can be read, no additional public image URL is transmitted. The proxy uses the image URL only as a fallback when local image bytes are unavailable. The request can also contain the existing alt text, enabled optional Media Library fields, language settings, site/account identifiers, plan, and plugin version. Use requires activated Cloud Features and acknowledgment of the processing information in the connection dialog.
