Dashboard

The dashboard summarizes key metrics and mobile quick actions.

What is the dashboard?

The dashboard is the plugin’s home screen. It shows scores and helpful context at a glance when you open EZZE WCAG Pro in wp-admin. On phones, compact shortcuts supplement the collapsed navigation.

What you will see

  • Accessibility score: Average score across tested pages (where available)
  • Test history: Recent test activity
  • Mobile quick actions: Shortcuts for common destinations; on tablets and desktops, use the plugin navigation instead
  • Cloud and plan status: Before activation, a neutral connection state and the included free allowances; after activation, the current plan, limits, and usage

Cloud status before opt-in

Until you complete the optional Cloud Features opt-in, the Dashboard does not present Free as an active plan. The sidebar card shows Not connected, explains that AI features and managed tests start only after consent, and lists what the free activation includes: 25 one-time AI Alt Text generations, Accessibility Tests for 5 URLs per month, and 25 one-time AI Explanation & Solution generations. The quiet Open activation link opens the existing Dashboard activation panel, moves to it, and places keyboard focus on its summary. Only that panel contains the primary activation action. Review the processing information there before continuing; opening the panel alone does not connect the site or transmit a cloud request. Duplicate floating activation prompts are not shown on the Dashboard.

Quick start without test results

Until an Accessibility Test has produced a result, the Quick start box replaces the Accessibility overview. Before opt-in, it remains visible for orientation: step 1 is Activate cloud features, carries the Still open status, and points to the activation panel above; Select content and Start test remain visible as the next steps. Quick start has no activation button in this state. After opt-in, the recommended start on Free opens a single test for an important page. On paid plans, it opens the batch test for multiple content items, while the single test remains available as a secondary action. As soon as a result exists, Quick start is no longer rendered and the Accessibility overview appears automatically.

The responsive Accessibility overview combines the animated score circle, score assessment, and score distribution in one card. The green average box shows how many content items were evaluated for the active Desktop or Mobile view, while its information button reveals the tested content types in a compact tooltip. Below it, untested content and the latest batch test appear as separated information areas without additional card borders. When Planned Batch Tests are enabled and an upcoming run is scheduled, Next batch test adds a third desktop column; without an upcoming run, the existing two-column layout remains. All areas stack on narrow screens. The untested-content tooltip shows test coverage, total scope, and the remaining open count. Scope and coverage match the current “All content types” batch-test selection, including archive and special pages. Results linked to permanently deleted WordPress content and custom URL-only results outside that scope are excluded from the average, distribution, and coverage. The content-type filter stays inside the score distribution and appears after the distribution values on mobile. Filter changes are calculated without another server request; the count, percentage, and bar length use the complete evaluated-result total for the active view as their reference, so a smaller selection also produces a visibly shorter bar. On phones, the multi-select filter opens as a bottom sheet; only Apply commits its draft, while Close, Escape, tapping the backdrop, or swiping down preserves the previous selection.

The Settings button beside Next batch test opens the planning section in the Accessibility Test settings directly.

Features and integrations

The feature center shows nine enabled, pending, or disabled core features together in a fixed product order. The Accessibility Test always appears first and AI Alt Text second, followed by the remaining tools. Until Cloud Features activation is complete, both cloud features show the same written status Cloud activation pending or Email confirmation pending instead of being counted as enabled or disabled. The Accessibility Test deliberately has no artificial on/off switch: after opt-in it is shown as Active. Like the other rows, it places its actions in the three-dot menu: Settings, Start single test, and—when the current plan includes batch testing—Start batch test. While pending, the plan-appropriate menu remains available, but the Test page itself exposes only Cloud activation. AI Alt Text likewise keeps its Settings action without offering a misleading direct activation switch. Feature and integration counts sit directly in the two tabs instead of being repeated as separate header metrics. Every core feature has a fixed Lucide symbol reused in navigation, the Dashboard, its activation card, and the usage overview where applicable: Scan Search for Accessibility Test, Image for AI Alt Text, Sliders Horizontal for Toolbar, Keyboard for Keyboard Shortcuts, List Start for Skip Links, Focus for Focus Outlines, Link for Links, Route for Breadcrumbs, and Scaling for Viewport. Each feature also has a short description and either related WCAG criteria or, for the Accessibility Test, the accurate scope Automated partial check. Changed cards remain in their fixed position without a page reload and without animation when your system prefers reduced motion. On phones, the complete layout remains usable without horizontal scrolling.

The blue expandable Action recommendations area collects open next steps in one place. Its lightbulb icon and open count remain visible while collapsed; expanded recommendations provide a short reason and a direct action. The disclosure state is remembered for the current browser session. An image without an alt text is open here only while its purpose has not been reviewed as decorative. This editorial Media Library state does not alter a concrete image use or suppress Accessibility Test findings.

Use the Features and Integrations tabs to switch between the initially open feature list and a compact integration overview. The overview reads the actual saved settings and reports the AI Alt Text integrations for the Media Library and image-upload workflow, plus the Accessibility Test integrations for the admin bar, content editors, publication workflow, and cookie or consent banners. Before Cloud Features activation is complete, every cloud-dependent integration is counted and labelled as Pending, even if a local integration option was previously enabled; its entry points, automatic tests, scheduled batch tests, and consent-bypass flows remain technically dormant during that time. Once activation is ready, the usual Active, Partial, Inactive, and Attention states return. Only integrations available in the current plan are counted and shown: Free omits the image-upload workflow, publication workflow, and Scheduled Batch Tests, while Basic and higher show them. Scheduled Batch Tests show whether they are active, their interval, and their next run; if an enabled schedule has no upcoming run, the overview displays a written warning. The gear in each group header opens the plan-appropriate feature or settings page. Settings are not duplicated on the Dashboard.

Permissions

The dashboard is available to anyone with the edit_posts capability—typically authors and editors as well as administrators.

Available for: Users with edit_posts Free

The Accessibility Overview is also available on the Free plan. Saved results for currently testable content are included independently of batch test availability.
