Step 1: Upload the plugin
Upload the plugin from the WordPress admin:
- Open Plugins → Add New
- Click Upload Plugin
- Choose the ZIP file and click Install Now
Step 2: Activate
After installation, click Activate Plugin.
Step 3: Freemius opt-in
Cloud features (AI Alt Text, Accessibility Test) require a Freemius connection:
- After activation, complete the opt-in flow
- Follow the prompts to register this site
- Stay on the Free plan or upgrade when you are ready
Note: Even the Free plan requires Freemius registration to use cloud-backed features.
Step 4: First configuration
Open the dashboard from the EZZE WCAG Pro menu in WordPress.
Step 5: Default state after a fresh install
On the first WordPress load after activation, the plugin stores default settings in the database. Until then, the same values apply via code defaults on the front end.

Note: Cloud features (AI Alt Text, Accessibility Test) require Freemius opt-in—even on the Free plan. The Toolbar, skip links, and other local aids need no EZZE cloud connection. Read aloud may still use an online browser or operating-system voice service, depending on the provider.
